This course covers The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System legislation found within the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Company Policy, or Industry Standards greater than the current legislation will be discussed. A wallet card and certificate are awarded to each participant upon completion of the course.

Target Audience:

Supervisors, contractors at multi-employer workplaces, affected employees, maintenance and repair workers, and anyone working inside the facility.

Course Duration:

4 hours

Content:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify what WHMIS legislation covers in the workplace
  • Employer, worker and supplier rights and responsibilities
  • Workplace and supplier label requirements
  • How to read and understand a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
  • Effects and Control of Hazardous materials
  • Dangerous Physical Hazards

Lockout Tagout

This course covers OHSA standards for the control of hazardous energy, and industry standards which may be greater than current legislation. A wallet card and certificate are awarded to each participant upon completion of the course.

Target Audience:

Supervisors, contractors at multi-employer workplaces, affected employees, maintenance and repair workers, and anyone working on or around electrical, mechanical, or other equipment with applied or retained energy, or that is subject to movement by gravity.

Course Duration:

4 hours

Content:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify sources and types of energy hazards
  • Identify hazards in the workplace;
  • Know and understand OHSA requirements
  • Know how to identify "affected persons"
  • Know how and where to apply locks and tags
  • Know how and when to document locks and tags
  • Demonstrate knowledge of these areas and OSHA

Method of Evaluation:

Examination and practical (hands-on)


Forklift Training

Target Audience:

New hires and experienced workers who operate or work in the presence of forklifts will be instructed in regulatory compliance and introduced to correct driving procedures.

Course Duration:

8 hours + 1 hour practical examination

  • Theory: Forklift operation and machine dynamics
  • Theory: Regulatory compliance
  • Preparing equipment
  • Maintenance checks
  • Practical and Theory: Operator training
  • Safe driving tequniques and strategies

Due Diligence

Target Audience:

New Management hires and experienced Managers who direct the workforce. Upper management and Directors whom will be affected in the event of an accident where liability may be a concern.

4 hours
